Title: Mechanical Project Engineer

Location: Near Waukesha, WI

Hire Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $90k-$100k/yr.

Sterling Engineering is searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer for a leading manufacturing of industrial lifting equipment. This is a great opportunity to work with a client that has great benefits and culture!

Job Duties:

• Interpret order documentation and customer specifications to determine scope and technical requirements
• Locate and analyze legacy equipment records and drawings
• Perform engineering tasks using established methods, including mechanical/structural calculations
• Design layouts, sub-assemblies, detail, and installation drawings
• Create comprehensive work instructions to guide field installations
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain project schedules and deliverables
• Support site visits for commissioning and equipment evaluations (up to 100 ft height)
• Participate in occasional domestic and international travel (approx. 5%)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility preferred
• Strong understanding of machine and structural design, welding, and machining
• Familiarity with CMAA and ASME B30 standards preferred
• Proficiency in SAP, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work collaboratively with sales, applications, and project management teams
