ViewRay Systems designs, manufactures, and markets the MRIdian A3i® radiation therapy system to treat cancer patients with the smallest radiation therapy margins available with the highest patient throughput demonstrated for the most complicated cases The system treats by aligning the sharpest radiation therapy beam on the market to diagnostic quality magnetic resonance images (MRIs) of the patient, adapts the treatment plan to the reality of the patient, and then uses the real-time MRIs to control the beam and record real-time doses delivered to the patient. 

Job Description

ViewRay Systems is currently seeking a Senior Computational Scientist, to perform physics and multi-physics modeling in the areas of ionizing-radiation transport, thermal, mechanical, and electricity and magnetism modeling to support the development of novel cancer therapy systems. 

Responsibilities:

• Independently develop novel approaches solving computational problems.

• Perform complex modeling simulations.

• Contribute to innovative designs utilizing your modeling, programming, and computational skills.

• Work with a cross-functional team of engineers and scientists to translate promising prototypes into product while leading technical/clinical risk retirement.

• Provide technical expertise and support for projects with internal and external collaborators.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• Strong background in Modeling and Numerical Analysis

• Proven experience with simulation software packages, e.g., Ansys, Comsol, INTEGRATED Engineering, and Simulia.

• Ability to multi-task, work independently, prioritize, take initiative, and follow through.

• Proficient in C/C++/Python programming.

Valued Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

• Experience in developing multi-physics models involving mechanical, thermal, electricity, and magnetism.

• Experience in Monte Carlo Simulations.

• Extensive experience using Matlab.

Work Location: In person in Cleveland, OH: Relocate before starting work
