Project Specialist – Houston, TX

Global Project Logistics & EPC Supply Chain Support

Overview:

A specialized international freight forwarder supporting engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) customers is seeking a Project Specialist in Houston, TX . This role supports the execution of complex, multimodal freight moves across oil & gas, energy, and industrial sectors. You'll work hands-on with global teams, vendors, and carriers to deliver seamless end-to-end project logistics performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day coordination of project cargo shipments including heavy lift, OOG, and time-critical deliveries
• Execute multimodal transport plans covering air, ocean, road, rail, and barge movements
• Support project documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, CoOs, and transport plans
• Liaise with vendors, carriers, and overseas offices to ensure smooth cargo movement and regulatory compliance
• Monitor shipment milestones, delivery schedules, and proactively resolve delays or exceptions
• Support RFQs and proposals by gathering routing data, costing, and timelines for bid submissions
• Collaborate with in-house engineers, permit teams, and field logistics for site delivery planning
• Maintain accurate files and reporting in accordance with internal SOPs and client KPIs
• Participate in internal audits and HSE reviews as required

Requirements:

• 3–7 years of experience in project forwarding or industrial logistics
• Familiarity with EPC workflows, OOG handling, and multimodal coordination
• Understanding of Incoterms, HS codes, export documentation, and carrier booking procedures
• CargoWise 1 or similar freight forwarding system knowledge preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments under pressure
• Clear communicator with internal and external stakeholders
• Must be based in or able to commute to Houston, TX
