Role: Technical Data Governance Product Manager

W2/1099/Individual C2C only

We are currently seeking a Technical Data Governance Product Manager to join our team in Irving, TX. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in driving data governance initiatives and managing product roadmaps across data cataloging, lineage, observability, and quality platforms. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role requiring hands-on experience with leading data governance and data management tools, strong program management skills, and deep understanding of enterprise data architecture and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Ownership: Serve as the product owner for data governance tools including Alation, Monte Carlo, Dataiku, Databricks, and Azure Data Services.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Data Stewards, Data Engineers, Architects, and Business Leaders to define and prioritize data governance requirements.
• Program Management: Drive end-to-end delivery of governance-related capabilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
• Governance Frameworks: Design and implement scalable governance models, policies, and workflows for metadata management, data quality, and lineage tracking.
• Tool Integration: Oversee integration of data governance tools into enterprise data platforms; manage vendor relationships and coordinate with IT for successful deployments.
• Communication & Reporting: Provide regular updates on roadmap progress, key risks, and achievements to executive sponsors and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Platform roles.
• 3+ years in a Product Manager/Product Owner or Program Manager role within the data domain.
• Hands-on experience with at least 3 of the following tools/platforms:
• Alation (Metadata Management & Catalog)
• Databricks (Data Lakehouse / Processing)
• Azure Data Services (ADF, Azure Purview, Synapse)
• Monte Carlo (Data Observability)
• Dataiku (AI/ML & Data Science Platform)
• Strong knowledge of data governance practices including metadata management, data lineage, data quality, privacy, and compliance.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification.
• Experience working with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
• Prior experience in Financial Services, Retail, or Telecom domains.
• Familiarity with data mesh and federated governance models.
