The Urology Nurse Practitioner is a full time position functioning under standardized Nurse Practitioner (NP) protocols that support various urology and urologic oncology clinical activities. These various clinical activities include the clinical trials and other research studies; the performance of physical and urological examinations on selected patients; the performance of study procedures and follow-up evaluations on selected patients which is not limited to but may include drug administration, phlebotomy and insertion of catheters. The incumbent will participate in all aspects of clinical trials while working with urology / urologic oncology faculty PIs and potential sponsors, including submission / renewal of protocols and providing required documentation to the Institutional Review Board and study sponsors. The NP will also perform clinical duties independently and with attending physicians in the urology clinic to support the urologic oncology practice. Provides community and educational outreach as appropriate. In addition, the NP must travel to UC Irvine affiliate sites where the incumbent will have the above responsibilities. The NP will report directly to the Director of Urologic Oncology / Clinical Research and Urology Chief Administrative Officer.
