The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process. HRTS will require new candidates to set up an account, which allows them to track their application’s progress. Under the guidance of the Information Technology Manager II (ITM II), the ITM I will lead the Educational and Rehabilitative Technologies unit within Incarcerated Population & Community Solutions (IPCS), Enterprise Information Services (EIS). The incumbent is responsible for managing and advancing the education and rehabilitative technology across the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

Serving as the primary liaison between EIS units and the Division of Rehabilitative Programs (DRP), the ITM I ensures strong alignment and effective communication. The incumbent oversees the planning, coordination, and support of the current and future educational and rehabilitative programs for the incarcerated population.

Key management functions include delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication, collaborating with DRP to prioritize initiatives, overseeing project assignments, enforcing IT standards, managing asset inventory, applying problem-solving and critical thinking skills, ensuring seamless technology operations, and fostering cross-team collaboration.

Working Conditions

The main EIS location is in a park-like campus setting across from the Folsom Lake auto dealerships in Rancho Cordova, close to US Highway 50 and the Hazel light rail station. We are minutes from historic Sutter Street, the Folsom Premium Outlets, and many dining establishments.

The position(s) is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment. Specific telework schedules may be discussed further during the interview process.
